NOVUS History
In 1972, NOVUS invented the windscreen repair process. Repair restores strength and clarity to automobile and truck windscreens damaged by rocks or other highway debris. As the only viable alternative to windscreen replacement the NOVUS repair network thrived.

In 1986, NOVUS shifted from a dealership based business to one of franchises. The decision was an important one. NOVUS founder, Gerry Keinath, believed NOVUS should do more than sell repair kits. A full range of technical, training, management, sales and marketing programs were needed if NOVUS dealers were to succeed.

A NOVUS franchise offers an established successful business name, with recognized brand awareness, together with a reputation for service excellence, ongoing advice, expertise, and state of the art products and equipment. In return, NOVUS is paid a royalty and this provides the revenue stream which allows NOVUS to offer continuing support to the NOVUS franchise network.

Many of our franchisees have been in the system for 5, 10, 15 years or more. This partnership also explains why NOVUS has been here for 20 years.

International
NOVUS is taking it’s “REPAIR First… REPLACE When Necessary” philosophy to the insurance and fleet industry in Australia and other parts of the world. Now, NOVUS has more than 2,000 operations in 42 countries. NOVUS has established itself as the largest automotive glass repair network in the world. NOVUS operates in countries such as New Zealand, Canada, Chile, The Netherlands and China.

Australia Wide
NOVUS commenced in Australia in 1984 with the establishment of master franchises and also franchises. The business flourished and it was not long before NOVUS franchises appeared in metropolitan areas as well as the rural areas. Today NOVUS has 100 areas under franchise in Australia and every week new enquiries come from business people wanting to invest in their future.

As NOVUS grew so too did the services being offered. First it was windscreen repair, then windscreen replacement, followed closely by glass scratch removal. These services are all offered for franchise.

For 18 years NOVUS operated with four management groups across the major states and territories, however in 2002 NOVUS Australia was formed when the eastern areas of Australia merged. NOVUS Australia now operates from new premises in Hamilton, Brisbane.
